Meghan Falcon

Meghan Falcon works as an assistant district attorney for the Orleans Parish DA to prosecute sexual assault crimes and support survivors. Per Louisiana law, facility dogs are allowed in the courtroom during testimony. Facility Dog Karissa works alongside Meghan to make these difficult days as smooth as possible for survivors of these violent crimes. Karissa is expertly trained in tasks that can be incorporated into forensic interviews and in the courtroom to support these individuals. She is also trained to lay quietly and out of sight in the witness stand for as long as needed as they tell their difficult stories. It has been historically shown that facility dogs in these settings allow witnesses to speak when they otherwise couldn’t, leading to successful prosecutions in addition to the comfort for the victims they support.
